Primo will enable Brigham Young University Library users to access and explore the institution’s diverse local and remote information resources
Chicago, IL — March 26, 2008. Ex Libris Group announced today that the Brigham Young University Library has chosen the company’s Primo® discovery and delivery solution to serve as a unified interface for searching and retrieving all library resources, regardless of format and location. Primo will enable the library to present its complete collection in an entirely new way, offering users a single point of access to this wealth of information.
”We envision that Primo will help us realize our goal of enabling discovery and improving access to information resources for students and faculty,” explains Randy Olsen, Brigham Young University Librarian. ”We plan to implement Primo across both the Harold B. Lee Library and the Howard W. Hunter Law Library. In addition to searching resources from our integrated library system, Primo will enable our patrons to expand the breadth of their search by accessing resources contained in the collections of external sources, including commercial databases.” Brigham Young University is also in the process of implementing Verde® and SFX®, two important Ex Libris products which enable electronic resource management and effective end user links.
